You may have noticed some changes

I have been so very blessed in my life. From meeting a wonderful man early in my youth, to being given the chance to create life even after being told I never would, and to top it off being given the gift of taking great photographs. My blessings have been great and though I sometimes tend to forget it I am very lucky.
If you have known me, or worked with me, or have even checked out some of the other parts to this blog then you would know that I am a stay at home mommy who makes a little extra cash here and there taking pictures for other people. I love taking pictures I really do, but I hate selling them. I hate seeing the look in someone's eye when the realize that they can't afford to have you take their picture. It sucks and it makes me feel like shit, but most of all it goes against everything my grandpa ever taught me. So I decided to make some changes.
While driving around today with Little Bird it hit me. I don't have to take money for my work. Who said I had to get paid. Who made the rules that said I couldn't just open up my talent to others. I don't need the money (not because I am filthy rich or anything), and I still have my fine art projects and my stock photography side jobs so why not do something a little different why not give the chance to have great family photos, and pictures of your children away for free or well sort of free. The idea hit me deep down in this part of my soul that had been so uncomfortable for the last few months. It hit me like it was clear as day.
If you were to take a look at the studio page of this blog you would see that it no longer leads to www.libbieschillephotography.com (although that page does still exist) instead you would see a very long message about my studio and about what I do NOW.
See I truly did mean it when I say that I believe that everyone deserves to have a really great family photo, or that one picture of their kid that makes them smile every time they see it, but not everyone can afford that not everyone can do that. But people also don't like taking something for nothing when it comes from a stranger so I changed my view.
Libbie Schille Photography is still here still going out and working with families but now I am not getting paid to do so instead I am asking these families to donate to a local school we have here in Walla Walla, Washington (currently where we are stationed) called The Kids Place and since we won't be stationed here forever I am working on setting up a way for families to donate to one of two charities right from my page.
This is how I see. I love taking photos I love even more seeing the look in someone's eyes when they see those photos for the first time. This covers both. I can have the selfish joys and also have the joy of knowing that these people are giving to some good causes.
What do you think? I really want to know?
