If this was 1986 I would have nicknamed you Duckie

I'm not really sure where Little Bird got her style or how in her mind she puts it all together but you have to hand it to her, she really pulls it off. If you're a lover of all things John Hughes than you took a look at this photo and the first thought that came to your mind was Phil Dale aka Duckie aka Jon Cryer's character in Pretty in Pink but let me throw this picture into the mix.....

and the only thing missing is Blane McDonnagh looking awkwardly cute in the middle of a record store. With that your world flashes back to a simpler time. A time of shoulder pads, leg warmers, and where Molly Ringwald ruled the world. Sure it's not pink, and she's not a red head but seriously tell me you don't look at this dress and see it. This dress for the record is not even from the 80's it's from 1993 and was once worn by the lovely Miss Katie (my pain in the butt sister) as a flower girls dress for Papa Gerard and Grandma Joan's wedding......yes the correct response was Awesome.

When the Father Daughter Ball came around this year I knew it was going to be something to be remembered. Not just because it was going to be the last one Papa Gerard would get to take them too. Not just because this year Little Bird would get to go too. No, I knew I would remember it always because it was the year that Little Bird and Big Bird brought our their true styles, all on their own and said Look out world here we come.....shoulder pad, bow tie and all.
